Antique print, titled: 'Paysanne Holandoise. Hollantsche boerinne.' - A dutch farmgirl. Engraving on laid paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Bernard Picart' after own design. Bernard Picart (1673-1733) was a French painter and engraver. He received his art education from his father, Etienne (1632-1721), from Le Brun and Jouvenet at the Royal Academy. His talents developed rapidly: at the age of sixteen he gained honors at the Academy of Paris. His prints in the "French" taste were very popular. His way of working was also very influential for the book illustration in the Netherlands Condition: Very good, given age. Small margins. Some soiling in the top edge of the image.
