Original etching/engraving on a verge type handlaid paper. on paper. Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 34 x 23.5 cm. The image size is ca. 27.5 x 15.5 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 13.4 x 9.3 inch. The image size is ca. 10.8 x 6.1 inch.Plate, page 279: "Oude Grieksche Gods Dienst" (Ancient Greek religious practices). It shows believers practicing their faith around statues of Greek gods, among which the Statue of 12 Gods, statues of the personifications of the Sun, Moon, Earth, Sea, and a statue of Proserpina. This original engraving originates from: 'Spiegel der Sibyllen, van Vierderley Vertooningen [etc.]', by Johannes Aysma et al, published in 1685 in Amsterdam. (transl.: Mirror of sibyls / prophetess, of fourfold display.)Artists and Engravers: Artist and Engraver: Coenraet Decker (ca. 1650-1685) was a Dutch Golden Age engraver, and pupil of Romeyn de Hooghe.Condition: Excellent given age. Original middle fold, paper loss repair to the bottom margin. General age related toning and light staining/thumbing. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

Pictura Prints guarantees the items to be as described. We always add scans or photographs to our listings. Further information is possibly available on request. Certificates of autenticity (COA) can be provided on request. We use a margin tax treatment.

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
