Plate 419: 'Kleding der Mahometsche vrouwen in 't Ryk van den Mogol.' (Costume of the Moslim women in the Mogol / Mughal empire). The Mughal Empire or Mogul (also Moghul) Empire, was an imperial power from the Indian Subcontinent. Etching and engraving on a verge type hand laid paper. Original fold(s). Description: From the Tirion edition of 'Hedendaagsche Historie, of Tegenwoordige Staat van alle volken', published by Isaak Tirion, Amsterdam, ca. 1730. This is in fact an amended Dutch edition of: 'Modern History: or the Present State of all Nations.', published by Thomas Salmon since 1725.Artists and Engravers: Isaak Tirion, a Dutch publisher in Amsterdam, was born 1705. He produced serveral Atlases and Dutch town plans. The maps mainly based on those of Guillaume de l'Isle. He died in 1765. Thomas Salmon (1679-1767), historical and geographical writer. Engraved by Caspar Jacobsz. Philips (Dutch 1732-1789). Condition: Excellent. Rear blank. General age-related toning and occasional light stains from handling. Please study image carefully.
