Antique print, titled: 'Kresna' - Kresna (Krsna) is a puppet from the wayang kulit shadow theatre. These figures specifically are from the Javanese interpretation of the Indian epic Mahabharata. Chromolithograph on vellin (wove) paper. Description: "Darah Bharata, verzameling van hoofdpersonen uit de Wajangpoerwa." (Darah Bharata, collection of the main characters from the Wayangpoerwa), Weltevreden: Commissie voor de Volkslectuur, 1919. Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J.W. Teillers' after 'Raden Bagoes Soelardi'. J.W. Teillers was the responsible chief of the lithographic printing house of the Topographische Dienst (Topographical Service) of Weltevreden. Raden Bagoes Soelardi (1885-1965) was an Indonesian court draughtsman and teacher at the House of Mangkungara VII. Condition: Excellent, given age.
