Original copper engraving on a vellin type paper. Original folds. on paper. Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 19.5 x 16 cm. The image size is ca. 18.5 x 14 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 7.7 x 6.3 inch. The image size is ca. 7.3 x 5.5 inch.Map: 'Liege.' (Map of Liege.) This map shows the city of Liege in Belgium. With legend. This print originates from a 1785 or 1786 edition of: 'Les delices des Pays-Bas.' by Jean Christijn, published 1697-1786. In the 1785-1786 editions the worn plates were re-engraved.Artists and Engravers: The author Jean Baptiste Christyn (1622-1690) was a historian from Brussels. Engraved after the original plates by Jacobus Harrewijn. Jacobus Harrewijn (1660-1727): Dutch engraver and etcher of topographical and decorative prints. Born in Amsterdam, died in Brussels. He was a scholar of the famous Romeyn de Hooghe. Married in Amsterdam in 1683. He became a master in the guild in Brussels in 1695 and he is known to have worked in The Hague in 1727.Condition: Excellent.
