Description: From 'Tafereelen des Ouden en Nieuwen Testaments […] Tableaux du Vieux & Nouveaux Testament.' Published in Amsterdam by Josua and Reinier Ottens, 1754. In this ed. the captions in English, in addition to the titles in French and Dutch, were added above the image. Ref: IconClass 73B633.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jacob Folkema' after 'Jacopo Tintoretto'. Jacob Folkema (1692-1767) was a pupil of his father and Bernard Picart. He specialised in highly finished book illustrations. Jacopo Tintoretto (1518-1594) was one the famous mannerist artists in Italy. Condition: Good, given age. Original folds, as issued. A small tear along the upper platemark (backed with contemporary paper and acid-free archival tape). Some creasing along the folds. A small rust stain in the lower right margin corner.
