Antique print, titled: 'Prinz Eugen von Wurtemberg.' - Portrait of prince Eugen of Wurtemberg in Prussian Army. From the set "Konig Friedrichs Zeit; Kriegs- und Friedenshelden". Wood engraving on Wove paper. Made by 'Eduard Kretschmar' after 'Adolf von Menzel'. Eduard Kretschmar (1807-1858) was active as wood engraver. He worked together with Adolf von Menzel. Adolf von Menzel (1815-1905) originated from Breslau, where he started in the lithographic printing office of his father. He would grow to be the leading Berlin artist around 1870. Good, given age. Ample margins, damages at the borders, browning and foxing, not affecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
