Provenance: B. van Hasselt, Roosendaal (not in Lugt) Engraving on Laid paper. Made by 'Jan Caspar Philips' after own design. Jan Caspar Philips (1690-1775) was born in Germany, but settled in Amsterdam, where he became the teacher of his nephew Caspar Philips and (in 1725), the engraver Simon Fokke. Very good, given age. Small margins. Light staining in coat of arms. Remains of paper from previous attachment on rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
