Curious portrait of a man who apparantly did not wash himself for many years after the death of his fiancee on their wedding day. Ref: O.D. 5. Stipple engraving on wove paper. Made by 'R. Page' after 'Anonymous'. R. Page (active ca. 1811-1832) worked as a professional stipple engraver/. Anonymous Fair, given age. Small margins, some folds and a twol small tears in left margin, consolidated with acid free tape. Missing right lower. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling.
