Antique print, titled: 'History of the Gun.' - 11 Images of rifles and parts. The Matchlock, Weel lock arquebus, Snaphaunce Rervolver in U. Service Museum circa 1640, Snaphaunce Fowling-piece, Flint Fowling-piece and Percussion fowling-piece. Also shows a man holding a Hand-gonne, and four images of different firing systems. Engraving on wove (vellin) paper. Description: Henry Downes Miles (ed.) "The book of Field Sports." Tallis & Co London. The plates were lithographed by R.S. Groom, Wilkinson & Co., London or Thinot Lorrette, London.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J. Rapkin' after 'D. Brand'. Condition: Fair, given age. A small tear in the top margin (not affecting image). Creases in the top right corner and right margin. Right and lower edges of the image faintly dampstained. Some small stains in the image.
