Copperplate engraving / etching on a vellin type hand laid paper. on paper. Size in cm: The overall size is ca. 24 x 39 cm. The image size is ca. 19.5 x 13 cm. Size in inch: The overall size is ca. 9.4 x 15.4 inch. The image size is ca. 7.7 x 5.1 inch.Plate page 29: This plate shows the grave of Caecilia Metella on the Appian Way in Rome. She was the daughter of Quintus Caecilius Metellus Creticus. Text on both sides. This original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Beschryving van Oud en Nieuw Rome. Verdeelt in drie Deelen. In 't Fransch beschreven door den Heer Francois Desseine. En in 't Nederduitsch vertaalt.', by Francois Desseine and published by Francois Halma in 1704, first published in French in 1690. Copies of this work are rarely complete as the maps and engravings are of high quality matching the work of Piranesi. Artists and Engravers: Publisher: Francois Halma (1653-1722). Engraved by Jan van Vianen (b. c. 1660) after Jan Goeree (1670-1731).Condition: Good. General age related toning and soiling. We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
