Antique print, titled: 'La selle', ('the Saddle') showing various types of saddle and stirrups (racing saddle, Royal saddle, English saddle). Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper, with watermark. Watermark not visible on every sheet. Description: This print originates from the 8vo (octavo) edition of Fancois Robichon de Guerniere's 'Ecole de Cavalerie contenant La Connoissance, l'Instruction, et la Conservation du Cheval'. This edition was published in 1769 in Paris. We also stock plates from the earlier (1733) quarto edition of the same work.Artists and Engravers: Drawn and engraved by Dheulland. Guillaume Dheulland (c. 1700-1770) was a French engraver and publisher. Little else is known. Condition: Good, given age. A few small stains in middle and bottom of the print. Binding holes in left edge of the sheet. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
