Antique print, titled: 'La Vie Humaine' - the Human Life. Allegory on three ages of life, after Titian; landscape with in the right foreground, seated on the ground, a naked young man and a woman playing flute, on the left a winged putto stepping over two sleeping children, and beyond an old man contemplating a skull. Rare. Engraving / etching on hand laid paper. Description: "Galerie du Palais Royal .", Paris: J. Couche & J. Bouilliard, [n.d., 1786-1808]. This series of plates depict the collection of the Royal Palace in Paris. Each plate is set in a decorative border and accompanied by a descriptive text (by l'Abbe de Fontenal), describing the artist and painting. The author Jacques Couche (1759-1836), was a French engraver, student of Levasseur.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'R. de Launay' after 'Titian / Tiziano Vecellio'. Robert de Launay (1750-1814) was a French engraver. Titian / Tiziano Vecellio (1485/89-1576). Condition: Very good, given age. Some small stains in print and margin.
