The biblical figure Ezekiel / Ezechiel, was a priest in the Bible who prophesied for 22 years sometime in the 6th century BC in the form of visions while exiled in Babylon, as recorded in the Book of Ezekiel. Etching and engraving on verge type hand laid paper. Description: This original old antique print originates from a 1727 edition of: 'De Helden Goden des Ouwden Verbonds . Gerijmt door J. V. Vondelen.', first published in 1620. This book describes the Gods of the Old Testament in prints and poetry / verse. This edition was published by Gysbert de Groot (heirs), Amsterdam. 1727.Artists and Engravers: The author and poet of this work is Joost van den Vondel (1587-1679). He was a Dutch writer and playwright. He is considered the most prominent Dutch poet and playwright of the 17th century.
