London: Blakey, 1753. Engraving depicts Britannia and Persia, two women with spears and shields holding a map between them. The map depicts a route through the Baltic south to Persia, the Black Sea, and Turkey and served as the frontispiece in Volume One of An Historical Account of the British Trade over the Caspian Sea by Jonas Hanway. Engraved by Simon Fran�ois Ravenet, who came to London in 1750. He worked with Hogarth and is credited with the revival of engraving in England.
