Anthony Gross signed etching made in 1932. Printed on very fine thin Japanese paper, this etching has rich drypoint. From a small edition of 40. In very good condition. Plate size 191 x 286mm (7.5 x 11.25 inches) Large margins.Reference: Herdman 3201. (Reynolds 84) Herdman states that there are two states, one with ink additions but otherwise no difference between the numbered edition. Gross had married Villeneuve fashion artist Marcelle Marguerite Florenty in 1930. It is interesting to see that he style changes in the same year. His work becomes more figurative and whimsical.
