Henri Abraham Chatelain's "Atlas Historique". The work was published by the author in Amsterdam between 1718 and 1720. The text was combiled by Gueudeville & Garillon. The maps were completed by Chatelain some influenced by Guillaume de l'Isle's work. The work was published in several editions, and the second edition was the first to include additional maps not found in the first including a map of the world, Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. --- "Atlas Historique" was a highly ambitious and groundbreaking work covering genealogy, cosmography, topography, heraldry, and chronology. Zustand: Very Good. An engaging overview of Denmark, with views of Frederiksberg, Copenhagen, and Bergen. The copperplate-engraved sheet was originally published in Paris as part of Henri Abraham Chatelain's important Atlas Historique. This monumental seven-volume set was first issued in Amsterdam between 1705 and 1720, but was re-printed in numerous in several subsequent editions until the late 1730s. The descriptive text (in French) and skillfully engraved maps, diagrams, and illustrations provide a fascinating window into the world of the early 18th century.
