His uncle Georges Stugocki, a drawing teacher, gave him a taste for art very early on and thus developed his passion. Under the impetus of the critic Henri Hérault, he joined forces with Robert Humblot, Jannot, Lasne, the Canadian Alfred Pellant, Pierre Tal-Coat and Raymond Moisset to found the Forces nouvelles movement which advocated a return to drawing, a return to the profession conscientious of tradition in a fervent contact with nature. Various artists, writers, and institutions paid tribute to his work and his talent by publishing books, short films, acquiring paintings and drawings. During his career, Rohner presented his works throughout the world in about a hundred exhibitions organized by galleries, museums, and Salons such as the Venice Biennale, the Salon des Indépendants, the Galerie de Paris, the Musée d modern art in the city of Paris, the Wildenstein & Co gallery in New York, the fine arts museum in Orléans, the Espace Cardin in Paris, the Louvre museum.
