In full tree-calf leather bindings with raised and gilt banding to spines, with gilt decorative numbering and title lettering to maroon leather spine labels. Red page edging. Plain endpapers. In good condition. Covers a little worn, Loss to leather spine labels. Partial crack to front hinge on vol.2, small nicks to top corners of spine on vol.1. Some rubbing to boards, corners bumped and nicked on vol.2. Some minor water staining to endpapers in vol.1, inscription to front ?S.J. Kerby, 1800.? Small tear to edge of frontis plate with backing to fore-edge. Some small ink-spots to corner of title pg in vol.1. Some occasional minor handling marks and minor light spots to pages, else pages and maps overall very clean and bright throughout. Binding tight and sound. Some rubbing to edges of folded maps, with some minor creases and slight darkening to leading edges. Lacks part of map Spain & Portugal p277 v.2. and tear to plate Stonehenge p395 v.2. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 2 vols: lxiv + 772pp & vi + 610pp. 37 maps, engraved by BAYLEY, some by HARRISON (most fold out). 43 engraved plates (mostly views, but also 4 very nice plates of globes).
