Poster for the legendary EXPO 70, which was held in Osaka. The Japan World Exposition was a symbol of the new Japan resurrected after WWII. EXPO 70 was intended to unite all nations and to show to the world Japanese capacities as a peaceful state. Presumably the image of Japan as a futuristic utopia appeared thanks to that. Yoshitaro ISAKA (1928-1970) was a famous Japanese graphic designer, active in the 1960s under the pen name PERO. Text in English. A1. 1 leaf complete. 14,5x106 cm. Colour offset printing.
