ALBERT EMILE ARTIGUE - (Oil on canvas)Belgian Artist- 1864-1938 - Active in the U.S. from 1892-1931. Often described as a 20th Century Landscape artist. He was born on November 26, 1864 of Belgian/French parents in Belguim - Studied at the Paris School of Beau Arts with his wife Emma Kline Schmidt before emigrating to America in 1892 ALBERT EMILE ARTIGUE - French School 1850-1927 -Oil on canvas - STILL LIFE WITH FLOWERS - Floral Oval-1930/31 - Dimensions 30" x 22" Canvas and frame have recently been cleaned and both are in excellent condition. This soft romantic still life reminds us of the transience of natural beauty. The picture is signed by Emile Artigue and the signature has been checked. Provenance - Art Auction in New York in 1982 - Artigue´s work is predominantly of figures. This is one of his rare ventures into still life/ Valuation by Heritage Auctions.
