Beschreibung

A collection of 460 match labels from the Meiji period, including a selection of woodblock-printed, copperplate-printed, and lithographically-printed labels. In the Meiji era, matches were important as Japanese exports to foreign countries. A lot of work was put into packaging design, and a variety of designs were created based on traditional patterns and motifs. A nice collection containing many unique and charming examples.
