Pen and ink, gouache and watercolour drawing with gold paint accents on wove (vellin) paper.Sheet size: 18,5 x 25 cm. Image size: 12,5 x 17,5 cm.From an Album belonging to Elise (Elisabeth Maria Adriana de Vois / Voys (1853-1919), daughter of Elisabeth Maria Theodora de Vois / Voys (1830- ) and Adrianus Hermanus Petrus Eleonardus Sterck (c.1824-1859), a Dutch merchant and aristocrat.At bottom right 'Door J.F.M. Sterck' and a monogram plus date 1876. Made by (Jan) J.F.M. Sterck (1859- ), the brother of Elise. Jan was at the Rolduc seminary until 1877 and probably influenced by his art teacher Adrianus Slits. He later became a reknown 'Vondel' expert and succeeded J.Alberdinck Thijm in his printing co.Condition: Very good, given age. Some light foxing. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL.
