25.5x18.2cm. There is a stain on the top and a light crease in the center, but overall good condition. Takeo Takei (1894-1983) was a Japanese illustrator, printmaker, and writer of children's stories. He is known for drawing fairy tales and illustrations, making prints, and publishing many limited editions and small books since before the war. As one of his life's works, he has researched folk crafts and folk toys, and has created illustrations for them in woodblock prints, and this work is one of them. This mask is from Naha (Okinawa), and although the details are unknown, it is thought to have been made from temples and other places as an amulet.
