This map shows the state of New York with detailed county divisions and geographic features. The map includes the Great Lakes, specifically Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, marking New York s northern and western borders. There are also rivers, railroads, and significant transportation routes depicted. The major cities and regions, such as New York City (in the lower inset), Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo, are clearly labeled, along with smaller towns throughout the state. The inset at the bottom left zooms in on the southern part of New York, including Long Island, New York Harbor, and surrounding regions, with detailed labels of smaller islands, coastal towns, and waterways. The map's legend is not visible but would likely explain the color-coding used to differentiate counties. Borders with neighboring states such as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Vermont are also shown.
