Beschreibung
We offer a signed etching by the German artist Peter Von Halm (1854-1923). The image is 6" x 9 1/4" and printed on 10" x 15" laid paper. Signed "P. Halm" in graphite at the bottom right. Halm depicts haystacks in ascending states of formation, from loose pile to tidy sheaves. Like Whister, Halm often etched his plates in nature, lending his mark making an improvisational quality. He taught at the Munich Academy from 1895 until his death in 1923. Halm's work is included in the permanent holdings of numerous museums and the print collection of Frank Lloyd Wright.
