Fine Image size 14 x 14cm (5.5 x 5.5 inches) Sheet size 30 x 30cm (11.75 x 11.75 inches) This was plate 90, as published in A Tribute to Birgit Skiold , 1983. Patrick Proctor [ 1936-2003] Painter, print maker and stage designer. Born in Ireland but moved to England and lived with his grandparents and mother. His grandmother being a talented amateur painter. After being taught at Highgate School by Kyffin Williams he conscripted into the Navy and learnt Russian .After his conscription he studied at the Slade School of Art under William Coldstream and Keith Vaughan. Having won a scholarship in 1962 he travelled to Italy and Greece. From 1963 he began to have exhibitions at the Redfern Gallery. He also participated in Bryan Robertson exhibitions titled New Generation with David Hockney, Bridget Riley and John Hoyland at the White chapel Gallery in London. He had an retrospection of his aquatints at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in 1985. Procktor was elected a member of the Royal Academy in 1996 and died seven years later, aged.
