Beschreibung
Antique Master Print, titled: 'Soyez libres; vivez.' - (Be free, live.) Louis XVI ordering his subjects to be free on the ruins of the Bastille. Engraving on hand laid paper. The Bastille ruins point to the French Revolution and 1789.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Henry Mutlow & Thomas Jones Woodman' after 'Jonathan Spilsbury'. Henry Mutlow (ca. 1756-1826) and Thomas Jones Woodman (1758-1817) formed a partnership with their publishing houses between 1782 and 1793. Jonathan Spilsbury (ca. 1737-1812) worked as an artist and publisher in London and Ireland. Condition: Very good, given age. Small margins. Light soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: LA-C4-35 The overall size is ca. 5 x 7.8 inch. The image size is ca. 4.7 x 7.5 inch. The overall size is ca. 12.7 x 19.7 cm. The image size is ca. 12 x 19 cm. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 57437
