This scarse print / plate originates from: 'Le gemme antiche figurate di Leonardo Agostini Senese.à ¿½, by Leonardo Agostini, published by Giacomo Dragondelli, Rome, 1657. This work was made in conjunction with Gian Pietro Bellori (1615à ¿½1696). The first volume was devoted entirely to Cardinal Francesco's collection, which Agostini had assembled for the papal nephew. The second, to cameos and other discoveries from the auguste ruine della gran Roma, the (august ruins of great Rome).
