Original offset poster by Sergio Nunez. 28 x 39 cm, in fine condition. SERGIO NÚÑEZ HENRÍQUEZ Born: May 5, 1931 in Santiago, Chile. A member of the executive committee of the Centre of Students of Fine Arts, he travelled to Europe at the beginning of 1955 as the leader of a student delegation and their exhibit. They participated and displayed their works at the World Youth Festival in Warsaw. Nunez did not return to Chile but continued his studies in Europe. In 1956 he was a delegate to the International Union of Students' Congress in Praque. He presented an exhibit of the works of his school in Chile at the international exposition held in Zofin Palace on an island in the Moldau. He returned to Paris at the time when the Algerian war was still going on. Simultaneously with his studies and work he wrote about the struggle of the Algerian people for the newspaper "El Siglo" and the magazine "Vistazo", both published in Santiago. (After 1948, Núñez was a sports journalist and at the same time a rugby player at the National Institute, University of Chile and for Slavia-Prague). In 1957, he was charged with selecting and composing the delegation of Chilean youth in Europe which was to participate in the World Youth Festival in Moscow. Nunez went to the Soviet Union, joined the delegation from the Academy of Fine Arts and participated in the International Exposition. On his return, he obtained a scholarship for studies in Czechoslovakia and entered the Higher School of Applied Arts in Prague. He studied at the studio of monumental painting of Professor Alois Fisarek and one year at the ceramics studio of Professor Otto Eckert. Núñez graduated in 1960. In 1958, under the sponsorship of the International Union of Students, Sergio Nunez and Hector Tobar, President of the Centre of Fine Arts of the University of Chile, travelled with an exhibition which they presented in Warsaw and Cracow, Poland, Berlin and Dresden. in the German Democratic Republic, in Prague, Czechoslovakia and which ended in Paris, France. While presenting their exhibit they Simultaneously carried out artistic-political information activities concerning the work and struggle of young Chilean artists. in 1964 Núñez held an exhibition in Praque (October-Novem-ber-December) under the sponsorship of the Union of Czech Plastic Artists, adhering to the struggle of the Chilean people. Sergio Núñez had great success with this exhibition, which was subsequently transferred to the working-class city of Most (December 1973 - January 1974). Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 25566
