Beautiful, mixed set of highly detailed lithographs of various breeds of cattle by important American Lithographer, Julius Bien (1826-1909). These were produced for the large GPO publicationCattle and Dairy Farming, which included a whopping 368 numbered plates. Bien is also known for having begun a chromolithography production of Birds of America,using Audubon's original plates around 1860. The project was unfinished, but 150 plates were made. 75 loose, sepia lithographs of cattle, each 6x9". Several with stab holes to lower margins, some light marginal soiling and chipping in a few instances, otherwise very good or better. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 5518
