A fine early large panoramic copper engraving by J. Mason after G. Lambert and S. Scott. Published by J. Boydell. Dimensions : 605 x 325 mm. Trimmed in the lower margin. Finely hand coloured, a view from the Blockhouse, with figures in the foreground, with the House nestling away in the trees. Sixteen canon are trained out towards the Hamoaze, and one is seen firing. Naval vessels are at anchor, and a gig full of men are rowing towards a warship flying the Red Ensign. There is a distant view of St. Nicholas Island.
