Original wood engraving by Thomas Nast, the American artist noted for his Christmas engravings in Harper's Weekly (especially his images Of Santa Claus). Image: 20 1/2 inches x 13 1/2 inches; Sheet: 22 inches x 16 inches. This first (only) impression was printed in Harper's Weekly, January 1, 1876. Both the woodblock and the electrotype plate were destroyed after the engraving was printed. This is a very good impression in very good condition: clean and bright, with minor chipping on edges of sheet. Size: 20 1/2 inches x 13 1/2 Inches. Bestandsnummer des Verk�ufers W2147
