Sandra Blow study for her screenprint Cambridge . Screenprint on paper with additional collage element, made circa 1998. Two sides with tape margins, surface damage to top edge, possibly intentional, pin-holes to purple screen-printed area. Unevenly cut by the artist along lower edge. Some light spotting else very good. Image size 13 x 18 inches (340 x 460mm) Frame size 18 x 22.5 inches (460 x 575mm) Framed as purchased from the estate.Provenance: Sandra Blow Studio Sale, lot 10, Thomas Barnes Auctions, St.Ives, 24th June 2018. ( Cambridge was a screen print in seven colours published in 1999. Batsford 20)Acquired at the Studio sale. They are mostly late period collages; the family advised us these were among the very last works she produced. The comparison with Matisse is apposite, she was arranging pre-coloured paper or card into collages in the same manner as the "papiers découpés" to which Matisse devoted his last years.
