20x20cm (sheet size), 12x13cm (image size). Wood engraving printed in black from the block on Japanese Gampi Vellum paper, numbered in pencil below the image. In 1996 Gwasg Gregynog was given permission to print from Agnes Miller Parker's original blocks of her two famous books done for the Gregynog Press: 'The Fables of Esope' and 'XXI Welsh Gypsy Folk Tales', now owned by the National Library of Wales. The result was the two magnificent volumes by Ian Rogerson: 'Wood Engravings from the Fables of Esope. The Story of a Remarkable Book' (1996) and 'Wood Engravings from XXI Welsh Gypsy Folk-Tales. John Sampson and the Gypsies of Wales' (1997). Additionally some individual wood engravings, also printed direct from the blocks, were made available by the Press as single sheets, printed on the same Japanese Gampi Vellum as the books. This is one such individual print, indexed as number 3 in the second of Rogerson's volumes mentioned above. The print carries the roman numeral III denoting this, plus the edition number 23/25.
