Condition original paperback binding fair, mostly very good, corner fold, approx 8cm tear top, tiny loss, small finger edge loss, 4cm loss front right, rear good, minor wear/ageing. Contents mostly very good and clean, minimal foxing to first 3 pages. The 2 illustrations detached, looks like they may have been detached when issued. Both black and white, one 19.75 x 28 in very good condition, second is a foldout 42 x 28 in good condition, minor edge wear/loss, tiny hole top left. Please Note, we do not believe they came from this issue, not dated, both from a copy of Le Follet and published by Edw. Minister & Son. To front states December 1869 No. 279, but Title page states No. 274 December 1869 Vol. 23. inside of binding front & rear are adverts, rear cover is an advert for Gask and Gask (late Grant and Gask).To top of front cover is printed under the Patronage of Her Most Gracious Majesty the Queen and Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, with an illustration of the Royal coat-of-arms. This was the English edition of the French, this edition was printed by Clayton & Co in London. It was one of the most influential fashion magazines of it s time (1846-1900). At time of listing we were unable to find another copy of Le Follet for sale, just illustrations for sale, no actual magazines (except our other copies of different dates). Size: 21.75 x 28cm Apporx.
