Large 4to hardcover volume in dark red boards with leather spine and tips. Spine complete but small split top left corner of front. Boards have wear but holding well endpapers unmarked. Issues from February 21 to May 16th in a weekly format all clean and tight. 656 pages + some supplements. Several Nast cartoons number of pages on Chess. Seems the publishers were down on The Mafia and the Mormons. The Illustrated American was a weekly American periodical published from 1890 until 1900. It primarily covered current events (with illustrations), but also contained other miscellaneous content and some fiction.
