Uncommon in Near Fine condition, this copy of Volume 1, Number 1 Mother Jones is flawed only by an address label on the front cover. This premier issue is dated Feb-March, 1976. Mother Jones incorporated a great deal of diversity in content. Often thought to compete with Ms. Magazine's for the feminist audience and the emerging new women's movement, Mother Jones sought a more comprehensive approach to literary and artistic content. Included in this issue: a photo essay about Peking with photography by the immortal Henri Cartier Besson for the article written by Li-li Ch'en; an article on Reggae, record and film reviews, including Cuckoo's Nest, poetry and art.
