Very Rare - two volume set. Here are the Report of the Departmental Committee Appointed to Consider Mr. Rider Haggard's Report on the Agricultural Settlements in British Colonies: Volume I, and the Minutes of Evidence with Appendices, Analysis and Index : Volume II. These were both Presented to both Houses of Parliament by Command of His Majesty. Volume I is [Cd. 2978], 1906, Price 5d, only 3000 printed; 42 pages. Volume II is [Cd.2979], 1906 Price 3s 1d, only 1500 printed; 381 pages. Both are sewn binding in blue paper wraps with black lettering; large (199 X 319 mm12" X 9"). Volume I contains the final committee report, while Volume II contains the full discussion by all participants in the lengthy meetings, including two appearances by Haggard; his appearance in November of 1905 is very long indeed. These do not appear in any Haggard bibliography. London: His Majesty's Stationery Office (1906). Very scarce in this original format, even more so in this well preserved condition. Volume I is lacking the original blue outer wraps, but is otherwise complete and unmarked except for bookseller marks on the back page. Volume II is VG condition with some chipping and toning.
