A nearly consecutive run of the then-quarterly international film magazine covering much of the 1970s and the early 1980s, lacking only the Spring issues for 1972 & 1976 prior to 1982. Also included are separate index publications for vols. 40-51 (1971-82). Subjects among the film and book reviews, features and articles include Eric Rohmer, 'Easy Rider', Janet Leigh, Jean-Luc Godard, Claude Chabrol, Satyajit Ray, 'Zabriskie Point', 'THX 1138', 'Kes', Roger Corman, '2001: A Space Odyssey', Monte Hellman, 'Performance', 'A Clockwork Orange', Andy Warhol, Raoul Walsh, Sam Peckinpah, 'Frenzy', Bernardo Bertolucci, Nicolas Roeg, Michelangelo Antonioni, Jack Nicholson, 'Lancelot du Lac', Francois, Truffaut, Georges Franju, 'The Man Who Fell To Earth', film noir, television, Bunuel, 'Alphaville', and general topics such as censorship, the British Film Industry, festival reports, criticism and theory. Very good, with a little rubbing to wraps, a few issues with chips/splits but all secure. Head edges soiled. Later issues are a little more rubbed to wraps, but still very good. The issue for Summer 1980 has been damp but the contents are intact, but the issue for Autumn 1980 is damaged by damp. Index for 1971 nicked at the head edge and with a few spots and stains. Also included are the issues for Summer 1982 ('Fanny and Alexander'), Autumn 1982 (Fassbinder), and Winter 1983/84 (cinemagoing in Britain), plus a separate index for 1983.
