Signed "Edgar Mitchell" in black ink. Letter measures 8.50" X 11.0" and has normal mailing folds, otherwise in FINE condition. Handwritten letter is on EDGAR D. MITCHELL personal letterhead and is dated May 2, 1994. Includes a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA Authentication Services. Letter states: Dear Joe Mora / As you and your children face the / heavens, recognize that our knowledge of / the universe is quite incomplete. Science / still knows little about what is "Mind". / And religions still cling to the archaic / dogmas about what is "reality". / Somewhere between the two, we will / someday understand. Nothing "out there" / is quite what we currently believe it to be". Edgar Dean "Ed" Mitchell (September 17, 1930 - February 4, 2016) was a United States Navy officer and aviator, test pilot, aeronautical engineer, ufologist, and NASA astronaut. As the Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 14 in 1971 he spent nine hours working on the lunar surface in the Fra Mauro Highlands region, and was the sixth person to walk on the Moon.
