("K."), on ruled yellow legal leaf "Wed". 8" x 12 1/2". 1 page (recto only). Together with the holograph mailing envelope addressed to George Cukor, Palace Hotel, Madrid, Spain, bearing two cancelled stamps and postmarked Surrey, March 23, 1972. To director George Cukor: "Dearest George.Hector Arce wanted me to do some sort of thing for the book - If this is O.K. - send it off to him - I'll get you by telephone I was too late this moring - We had a fascinating time in Switzerland and Deborah [Kerr] and Peter [Viertel]. I skied - thrilling. Probably going back 1st week April - Love." With postscript "Greetings to Dougie - John and where's by HAIR." At this time, Cukor was in Spain filming "Travels With My Aunt," in which Hepburn had been scheduled to star. However, she was replaced by Maggie Smith two weeks before filming began, when the studio was unable to insure Hepburn. The film was released by MGM in 1972 (Smith was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance). Peter Viertel is an important screenwriter who wrote the screenplays for two Ernest Hemingway films ("The Old Man and the Sea" and "The Sun Also Rises"), etc. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 604650
