A clever engraved volvelle device that allows the user to determine the time of day in another locale based on time zone. Shaped like a globe, the inner wheel is labeled with places ranging from Bombay to Mexico, Rio De Janeiro, London, Rome, and many others. Designed to resemble a spinning globe beneath the high noon sun. Interesting to see which locations were included, and which were not. Fastened with small metal grommet and reinforced with contemporary scrap manuscript paper. Measures approx. 4.5" by 3.25" Good. Toned with some chipping, staining.
