2 page autograph letter signed by Stubbs. Probably to E.B. Cook, concerning some chess problems, one of which accompanied the letter (not included here). Stubbs (1853-1907) was an early Canadian chess editor, chess problemist of distinction, and for 24 years editor of the chess column of the St. John Globe, N.B., and author of what was the second chess book published in Canada (Globe Problem and Solution Tourney No. 2, London (Ontario), 1889.
