Document signed, one page - on Jewish National Fund Postcard (with scarce 1915 canceled `Z` perfin stamp), 3,5 x 5,5 inch, (Cologne), April 1915, in German, concerning a tree donation (Jewish National Fund), written and signed in blue ink, attractively mounted for fine display with a photograph of Max Bodenheimer (altogether 8,25 x 11,75 inch), with browning, a few ink stains, and perforated to the left edge - in nearly fine condition. "Der Verein `Hybronia` stiftet 1 Baum im Herzlwald* auf die Namen von M Habermann u[nd] Frau." Translated:"The ?Hybronia? association donates 1 tree in the Herzl Forest* in the names of M Habermann and his wife." * The creation of the Herzl Forest was a fundraising campaign (Jewish National Fund) initiated by Prof. Otto Warburg. This tree donation was initiated in 1904, the year Theodor Herzl died. It is intended to be a monument to Theodor Herzl and his idea of ??a Jewish state, in which anyone can participate with a tree for which a certificate has been drawn up for six marks (the certificate will then be handed over to Tu Bischvat). Trees in particular are important in this region for maintaining a healthy water balance. The planting of the Herzl Forest began in 1908 in Ben Schemen and Hulda.
