Fort Benning GA, has been the site of many a recruit's introduction to Army Life. Unfortunately, they did not dine at the Supper Club, the officers' mess. This facility is now a banquet room and the officers' mess is The Benning Club. (Ft. Benning is one of 10 installations named for Confederate soldiers that may be renamed in the next couple of years). The menu is VERY heavy on meat and potatoes, with a tossed salad being the token vegetable with most meals. And gotta love those prices - a double NY steak for two for $5.75, half a chicken for 1.35, and a slice of cake for .15!
