Color post card. Divided back. Number 65987. Postally used. With 1 cent green George Washington postage stamp. Cancellation: North Charleston S.C. OCT 28 10 A.M. 1944. Addressed to: "Mrs. Elsie Workman. 89 S. Eighteenth St. Gilroy, Calif." Message is the address of the sender: "Miss B.J. Miller 218 -a - East Dolphihn N.Charleston S.C." The site of the synagogue was purchased by the Jewish congregation in 1795. Note that the facade does not face the street. Perhaps the Ark faces East, towards Jerusalem.
