A poem titled "The Face Upon the Floor" on a leaf with the letterhead of Teller House of Central City, Colorado, and one Teller House envelope. Both items are in very good condition. The poem is on white leaf with black lettering and illustration, was at one time folded twice and measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"; envelope has black lettering and illustration in the upper left corner. The leaf with poem has no soiling or toning, and has only light wear to folds; envelope has moderate toning, light creasing at edges, a 1/4" tear on one edge and light soiling. The Teller House used the poem, which was adapted by Hugh Antoine D'Arcy in 1887, as an inspiration for a painting on their bar room floor, which they then promoted with the printing of the D'Arcy poem.
