Original full leather, bumped, scuffed and worn, with small patches of loss to the rear and three small holes in the spine. Spine in 5 panels with four raised bands with gilt edges; gilt frame also to upper and lower boards. Binding inact but cracked and with some of the gatherings near the front coming loose from the block and hence proud. xxx, 294pp. + unpaginated index; illustrations of heraldic arms. Occasional light tanning/foxing, otherwise the internal contents clean and bright. 13.5 x 7.5cm approx. Edward Kimber (1719 1769) was an English novelist, journalist and compiler of reference works.
