Reseña del editor:
"Papa, can you help me please,” asked Laura. "Of course,” he answered. "What can I do for you?" “Tomorrow in school I have to have to present something in science for Show and Tell. Do you have any ideas I could use?” pleaded Laura. “I’m thinking of something nice and simple,” replied Papa. “Is that OK?” . . . Join Grandpa, Laura, Austin, Madison, and McKinley as they learn about pennies—old and new—dancing raisins and spaghetti, floating ice, the sounds and beat of music, and the Statue of Liberty.
Biografía del autor:
For 65-years Dr. Krupp (aka Dr K) has been living his passion--teaching! In over six decades as an instructor, utilizing a blackboard and a slide rule to the internet, from Saudi Arabia to Alaska, in universities and even prisons, he has amassed an incredible number of personally taught students. The numbers would be greater than the current 14,000 if we could count the individuals he has inspired via PBS television. He has been recognized many times--recently he received the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Worldwide Teacher of the Year Award. Yet he still felt he needed to accomplish more . . . thus he took on the most demanding of all his educational endeavors--teaching his grandchildren the marvels of science and the beauty of our Universe. His first book in the Laura & Grandpa Series--Discovering Science Together received a Mom's Choice Award in 2012. His second book in this series received a Mom's Choice Award in 2013. Encouraged by this and how his first books have been received, he now has published his third book in the series. He plans a fourth book to be available in 8 months. In addition, a new series, Austin and Grandpa--Discovering Science Together will be available in the summer of 2014. This series will be written for children ages 9-14. A native of Illinois, Dr K spends his time in Florida, Illinois, Arizona, Oregon, and Italy--teaching, reading, writing and swimming.
